This pet food for Hamsters is not our top pick. Some of our concerns include a lower protein level than we would like to see and the fat content is higher than recommended. Fiber levels are fine. There are a number of corn components throughout the ingredient list which are typically fillers of lower nutritional values. There are plenty of supplemental Vitamins, but then there are also five different colorants used in the food.

Feeding Instructions

It’s important to establish a consistent feeding and cleaning schedule for your pet. For small hamsters, feed 1/8 cup of food or 1 to 2 teaspoons (5-10 grams) and for large hamster and gerbils, feed 1/3 cup of food daily. Their diet should be supplemented with high-fiber timothy hay which is also great for foraging and nesting. Always supply fresh, cleaning drinking water. Transition Instructions WEEK 1: Make a mixture of 1/4 EXTREME! food and 3/4 of the current food. Repeat daily for one week. WEEK 2: Make a mixture of 1/2 EXTREME! food and 1/2 of the current food. Repeat daily for one week. WEEK 3: Make a mixture of 3/4 EXTREME! food and 1/4 of the current food. Repeat daily for one week. WEEK 4: Beginning the 4th week, you can supply 100% EXTREME! as your pet’s main diet.
