The Oxbow Essentials Chinchilla Deluxe Chinchilla Food would have received our top award except that it contains added sugar in the form of cane molasses. Bummer! Protein, fat, and fiber levels are all great for your precious chinchilla. No unnecessary treats in this food and therefore as a pelleted food, the variety of whole ingredients is non-existent.

Feeding Instructions
Young Animals: Feed Essentials – Chinchilla Food free – choice to chinchillas younger than 1 year of age. Supplement daily with a combination of free – choice grass hay and alfalfa. Adult Animals: Chinchillas older than 1 year of age should be fed 1/8 – 1/4 cup Essentials – Chinchilla Food and free – choice grass hay. Alfalfa hay should only be fed as an occasional treat. Transition Instructions Week One, mix 1/4 new food with 3/4 current food. Week Two, mix 1/2 new food with 1/2 current food. Week Three, mix 3/4 new food with 1/4 current food. By Week Four, you can feed Oxbow Essentials Chinchilla Food exclusively to your pet.
