Nope, we don’t sell pet food so don’t worry about buying. Nibbles & Eats is a resource for pet owners, by pet owners, in order to help you make great decisions about your pet’s nutrition.
White Mill PURE Rabbit Food does make it on our recommended rabbit food list, primarily for adult rabbits in the maintenance stage of life. Protein and Fiber levels are good. Fats are also less than 3% which is good. I really like the variety contained within the packaging and there is no added sugar which is key to our review.
While virtually no food is “perfect”, this rabbit food has a lot going for it. Almost all of the rabbits we’ve tested it with loved it and the one who didn’t, is a very finicky eater. She still ate it but didn’t devour it like the others.
There is one note about this rabbit food. Be sure to keep an eye on their weight over the long term. It does contain some seeds and whole ingredients that might be considered “treats”. Treats should make up less than 5% of their diet. This food appears to be in the 5-10% category while pellets make up the bulk of the meal.
Finally, be sure to follow the best practices of rabbit care by using the food pyramid: 75% hay, 20% pellets (this food), and only 5% treats.
The average cost of this pet food is $4.09 per pound.
